Seems that BoatUS has moved their insurance underwriter to Geico Marine Insurance.

I discovered that my owner did not get the yearly renewal notification at the end of April due to this switch over.

Geico Marine  - restarted the same coverage from the old termination date since they messed up.

Further, Pygmalion hull value was first at $31,100 (down from 36,000) -- then he offered to check another rating service -- and we got a higher a hull value of $33,600 and a lower yearly cost with same coverage.

I am also using Geico and received my renewal. I noticed it did not include the same policy, excluding $20k of personal effects. The towing policy looks to only cover $250 worth so I'll probably add SeaTow for $10/month in addition. Murphy's law says if you don't have it you'll need it, vice versa. Also, you might consider getting a survey and having them increase the assessed  value. Satori is at $70k and I'm considering another haul out and survey to bump the insured value again.

    Tony:

So the agent on the phone didn't ask about a survey -- just if the boat was usable and checked the rating list.

Are you saying that with a survey - and a higher assesd value -- that we'd have more coverage and I assume that includes a higher premium :) ..
