Launched in 1974 Catapha - W32 and David White cruised from Southern California to Tahiti and back to San Francisco.  In 1975, he raced in the Single-handed Trans-Pac from San Francisco to Okinawa, Japan. 

He ran on a reef on the island of Ishima near the finish line and was towed off the reef and went on to finish the race.
