We just replaced the bow sprit and platform on W32 Questia and now ready to install roller furling for the jib sail - any recommendations on make or model - ease of installation?  Price?

Appreciate any advice we can get.

Look at the Alado. Good price, quick delivery and took less than three hours to install. https://www.alado.com

Based on recommendations and price, I went with the Alado as well.  I have not installed yet as I am in the middle of a refit, but my inspection of the gear was positive.  I went with both staysail and jib.

Thanks for the Alado recommendation - we had pro-furl on our last W32 - good unit but expensive.  Which size Alado unit did you purchase? Any special measurements to consider when purchasing?

Practical Sailor has a pretty good review on line.  Alado has a how to assemble on line video that makes the process look pretty easy.  I'm thinking this could be a good choice for our boat. Ease of installation and price are pretty compelling considerations.

I based my purchase on the sail size recommendations from Alado-  I think I ended up with an A1 and an A2.  I also asked for 9/32 bushings to match the rigging size, which were no extra cost, and 5' of extra extrusion for the smaller unit to match the stay length.

    John,

Interesting that you went with the A2 and not A3.  I was thinking I needed the A3 based on our 9/32 head stay.  I like the idea of just increasing the bushing size and extra length of foil to match length of stay - are you flying a yankee or genoa as a headsail?  I have a 475sq.ft. genoa and just wondering if the A2 is large enough to handle a big sail.

    Thanks for your feedback!

So about a week ago I was ready to move forward and purchase the Alado A2 - I talked with their representative in the US and, while I still had a few reservations, I felt like the A2 would do the job for us. Then I talked with Bud about getting us the Harkin ESP Unit 1, with the long link plate kit.

On our prior W32 we had Pro-Furl, I always liked how easy it was to furl the sail and it was basically maintenance free.  I've considered Harkin as basically the same quality furling system.  In the end, the price of the Harkin system from Bud was only a couple hundred dollars more than the Alado A2 and we decided to buy the Harkin.

One of the big motivators for buying Alado was the ease of installation. I haven't installed a Harkin system before, I'm hoping its not too difficult, but I guess we'll find out soon.

We bought the Harkin Unit from Bud and have been very happy with it. I also had a Harkin on my last boat and it worked very well there also. Also I have found them very easy to install for the do it yourself person.
