Jay:  I'll take a stab at an answer - there are lots of choices of course... I have found for me  a yearly application of PolyGlow on a cleaned hull works pretty good. 

To get started, you will need to clean off what ever you don't want to see when you are done -- then you wipe it on with a sponge applicator 5 coats start with then a coat or two yearly as needed.  The start kit goes a long way on a W32..

I didn't like it on the deck but on the hull - I've kept using it.

Do you own research and see what folks are using in your area -- I'm in the SF bay and it's pretty mild year round.
