    Hello all

I am looking to purchase a 1976 westsail 32, that is currentlyon the hard and being refit,  I have some questions concerning the hull, where the prop shaft exits. In and around the prop shaft there is some spidering. Can anybody tell me if this is an issue and what might cause this. Thank you in advance. Please see picture.

Hello Eric,   Those little cracks are in the gel coat only.  All of the rest of the hull gel coat is sprayed on in the mold.  That small area is sprayed on after the hull is removed from the mold and probably ended up a little thicker.  It is totally inconsequential.   If bothersome it can the ground off, cleaned, and reglassed with a couple layers of thin cloth, or one layer of 9.6 ounce cloth.  Use epoxy.  Sand smooth and repaint.  No need to re gel coat.   Where is that boat located?     Good luck,    Dave
