Hi Patrick , there seems to be a lot of them out there . Do you want a heater with elegant beauty or a machine that  puts out heat ? Maybe go both ? Because there isn't all that much room on our 28's , a little machine that puts out heat is the Eberspaecher Esper Airtronic . Or you could go the Newport  by Dickenson . The problem with the Newport is you need a chimney . The where will take some planning , my first thought is on the bulkhead by the compression post but then that might interfere with the ice box , maybe .

The Esper you do not need a chimney but you do need12V .

Waay down south here we are more concerned with keeping things cold , haha .

Good luck , keep us posted .

Another option, to save space, is to install a Wallas Marine combination stove and heater. It taps into the diesel tank, has no open flame, and vents out the side, so no chimney. With the top down, it is a very effective heater for a small cabin. I've been using it cruising in the Salish Sea all year and it's worked very well.

I installed a Webasto Forced Air Diesel Heater in "Starwhite".  I've mounted it to the overhead in the engine room on the starboard side above the batteries.  It is hung in a bracket from the underside of the cockpit seat.  It runs off the diesel tank via a small fuel pump.  We just turn on the power (12V) and set the thermostat.  It requires an exhaust outlet which I installed in the hull side by the rubrail.  It is very effective and heats the boat quite well.  It draws about 2 amps an hour on average when running.

I initially installed just a single heat outlet in the main saloon at the aft end of the settee.  I had considered adding another outlet forward in the Head or Vberth but having used the heater for several years now I'm not convinced of the need for any more outlets.

If you watch our videos on YouTube "Westsail 28 Starwhite" I talk about the heater in video #44 the engine room tour.
