Long ago I removed the single lever Morse shifter and rebuilt it. I now cannot recall how the cables are orientated. The cables dont seem to have the length of throw to match the the lever stops.  Does anyone have a photo or diagram of the Morse single lever connections?

    Alan,

Are we talking about a single lever that controls the transmission along with the throttle?

OK: I need to practice pictures better, but it is the type that you pull a small tab and it activates the gear selector or leave it in and it is throttle only.

So when you're asking for the orientation, are you meaning which cable is the throttle and which is the transmission shift?   Or are you talking about something else.  Do you know what brand you have.  Can't see your photos.

    Alan,

You can easily search the forum archives on my at Westsail.info I did a few searches for you, but couldn't find exactly what you need. Perhaps you'll have better luck. While the search routines are very efficient, the forum archive is a relatively small dataset (despite covering 8 yrs) and search can only find what is there.

It would help to click on the button "Search Help" to understand how changing the various settings can greatly increase and/or reduce the found results. It's a very sophisticated search engine if you take the time to learn how it works.

While the following threads don't appear to contain exactly what you are looking for, one of them may lead you in the right direction...

When you do a search on your own, the search will return a list of individual messages containing the search words or phrase. Each message will have a link at the top with the phase: "Show all messages in this thread" When you find something that you think might be related, this button will load the entire thread, with all messages in sequence.

I've also posted a photo for you that might give you what you need. It was taken from a strange angle, looking aft from the galley (the cupboard back is currently off).

Unfortunately, the upload routines on the blog truncate the photos. If you need a better view, let me know. I hope this helps you find what you need.

I have the original installation sheet on Glorious.  If it will help, I can send you a copy next time I am aboard (probably a week).

Jack: Thanks again for your great reply and help. The owners assn and this forum are why I chose a Westsail to restore. I would have given up long ago were it not for members like yourself, Jay, Bud and the rest. I am nearly to where it is fun as I am installing things instead of tearing them out. Gerald, I have found several different Morse manuals but none that match my control so I will take all the help I can get.

Alan: I have not yet removed my own controller to rebuild it, so I don't even know the model. If you find out for sure what yours is, please let us know.

Gerald: If you would be so kind, please forward a copy of your scanned manual to me as well. Thank you for your help.

    Jack
