Anybody ever thought about removing the forstay of a W32 and installing a self tending jib boom, like the staysail, but replacing it as well as the yankee? That is essentially the sailplan of Island Packets. I was thinking about that while beating upriver the other day, as the boat seems to go to weather better under just the staysail without the yankee, assuming the wind speed is over 12 kts or so.
