All my sheets/halyards are double braid Dacron. But the cover weave (sheath, whatever it's called) has a softer, 'cottony' look/feel rather than the 'shiny' polyester weave of the other yacht braids I have (for dock line, running backstay, etc.).

When I look for yacht braid I never come across anything like it. Anyone know that kind of double braid yacht line it is?

I think what you are looking at is a double braided line with a brushed (fuzzy) cover.  One brand is Samsom - Trophy Braid.  I'm sure other companies also offer line with brushed covers.  It is recommended to add additional friction and help limit slippage.  I have used it for my reef points on my mainsail.

Thanks... reading the specs on Samson website that's probably it (Samson Trophy). Nice line and very nice feel on the hands.
