    1. The planning is amost 100% done - please sign  up if you are planning on attending.

    2.  Bud has expressed an interest in being on a boat for the AC Cup - if you are going out and can take Bud during the mid week - please email him.  Bud has Rendezvous commitments on the weekend...

    3.  Westsailors in the SF Bay area - are invited to Randy's BBQ on D dock Pier 39.

    Ahoy Fellow Westsailors!

Team Tortuga is extending an invitation to come and watch the first of the America's Cup match race series at Pier 39 on September 7th & 8th.

If you haven't seen these incredible racing machines yet, you need to come and watch them literally fly across the water at over 40 knots!

These boats are so fast that they are literally always sailing upwind. (Think about that for a second!)

Tortuga is docked right along the sea wall on G dock at Pier 39 and we can see about 90% of the race course right from our slip!

The races are scheduled to be at 13:10 and 14:10 each day.

You can either come by boat and get a guest berth at Pier 39 marina, or just come as a land lubber.

    By sea:

    By land:

Be sure to bring binoculars for best viewing and wear something warm if it happens to be a windy weekend.

Also feel free to bring anything you'd like to throw on the BBQ etc.

Let us know if you'll be able to make it out!

    Cheers,

    Randy & Danielle

Jay, I think I can safely speak for all Westsailors that you're the one who should be thanked. As always you did an excellent job which resulted in a great turn out. I've spoken to others and the're very grateful for your efforts.  We're already looking forward to next year. I urge all of you to make plans to attend next year's event, you'll be glade you did
