SOCAL Westsail 2021 Rendezvous

This year’s re-start RONDY will be held at the Pine Avenue Dock, Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach and across from the Queen Mary. With Covid restrictions this is the first weekend available this “summer”. Also there may be restrictions on rafting up (so may be max. 4 boats against the pier, but I am hoping those will be lifted). Please let us know ASAP if you can make it and are planning on bringing your boat.
Your hosts for this year’s event are Colleen and Brian on W32 Inalla. Please reach out if you are willing to assist, and/or co-host. (As always, looking to pass the mantle to next gen. owners for 2022!)

To bring your boat you will need to provide the Rainbow Harbormaster, ask for Christina or Karen (1-562-570-4950) with payment, registration/documentation and a signed copy of your insurance policy, and a signed transient slip agreement before arriving.

Be sure to tell them you’re part of the Westsail Owners Association.
If you are unable to bring your boat this year, we hope you are able to drive to attend the rendezvous as everyone is long overdue for a catch-up.
As always, the rendezvous is a very informal and casual event. Our primary purpose is to renew old acquaintances, make new ones, tell almost true sea stories and most of all, visit boats.
The planned loose schedule will include the following events:
FRIDAY ARRIVAL – September 10 – Arrival and tie up at Pine Avenue Pier, Rainbow Harbor, Long Beach. Throughout the afternoon and evening, informal socializing on various boats and on the dockside — “potluck” set up BYOB, snacks, drinks, and camaraderie.
SATURDAY DAY– September 11 – Coffee and doughnuts on the dock, boat visiting. Dinner will be a BBQ, delivered dock-side from Famous Dave’s, right at the head of the dock. We will take a headcount and collect $20 pp for dinner up until about noon on Saturday. (We’ll need a preliminary dinner count Friday to let the restaurant know, and a final one by noon on Saturday. So please RSVP if you will join in for dinner dockside).
SUNDAY – September 12 – Morning coffee, cast off the dock lines and head for your homeport or wherever the wind may take you.
Remember, you don’t have to be a current Westsail owner to attend. Owners of all of the Atkins/Archer/Double-ender types, and any other interested folks, are welcome to join us.
