Gary's dodger is beautiful and his frame is as impressive as I've seen. If I were building a cloth dodger that's the one I'd copy.  But if your starting from scratch I'd consider a hard dodger. We built a hard dodger 1-1/2 years ago and feel it more than worth the effort and extra cost. It is unbelievably solid and we wish we would have done it twenty years ago.  We're currently in our third month of our next cruise and don't how we did without the rock solid hand hold.  In our area it cost less than a new dodger and frame if you had a professional build it. Although that would not be true if you built your own frame, but not much more.
