Eek- I was typing it just dumped my entire response.
And sad for you…
Anywhooo, even though it costs a seller money, you can build something into the price for it, then protecting both yourself and the buyer. Proper title will be transferred and whatever registration or licensing you need can be done by the broker as well.
Also fake yes certified checks are out there.
Also, Nigerian guys will call you and offer you more for your boat than your advertising it for etc.
I bought my W32 Hull 370 in Mexico that is registered in Canada with a new name! . I’m Canadian. The seller is now Mexican citizen lol so I had La Paz Yachts take care of all of it and they did absolutely everything including a document I need to have it legally in Mexico! So it’s worth it to have the knowledge and the owner of La Paz Yachts is also a notary so it’s all well known that a good broker/realtor/agent is worth that money :-) just my opinion :-)
