Calling all SoCal Westsailors... we have one couple tentatively lined up and are looking for a co-host (single person or couple) to help support this year. Best turnout in years passed has been when we’ve mixed things up a bit..new destinations, different hosts etc.

(if it’s left up to me the 2019 Rondy might just be where we have 4 or 5 Westsails already tied up in Yacht Haven, so please step up if you have a better idea!)

Hosts get to pick the dates and location!

Some suggestions for locations  have come in anyway:

Newport Beach Marina Park - first weekend in June (6/7-6/9).

Pine Avenue Dock (since it’s been a while - availability to be announced)

The date in early June and either location work well for us. Can't wait to see you then.

I hope others will respond quickly so we can lock down the rest of the details.

Looking forward to a great rendezvous.

A group of us spoke last week about hosting the SoCal summer rendezvous. It would be in July and we're shooting for somewhere inside of La Playa Bay so people can tie up during the day and anchor out at night for free. I am willing to take on hosting and getting everything organized if the other SoCal folks are willing to come down.

    Hello Tony,

San Diego sounds like a fun destination.  We're in the process of making other vacation plans.  Are you thinking early or late July?

San Diego's about a 140 mile round trip sail for us, any idea how many San Diego area boats might attend?

    Thanks for volunteering to host.

This early on I have only gathered commitments from 4 boats in San Diego. I will check in later this week and see if I can secure a place to host it, then perhaps that will help determine which weekend.

San Diego , Shelter Island in July sounds fun , we love that place . Anyone interested in keeping the trad.  third week in May alive ? Maybe Wilmington . I think it would be really cool to do May , July and October at the Isthmus .

The Isthmus in October sounds great, let's talk more about making that happen.  I think we're still waiting to hear from Tony about San Diego in July. Depending on the date, we're going to try and attend.

If we're going to head to San Diego in July maybe something easy (an overnighter) in Los Alamitos Bay, Newport Beach, or Dana Point could work?

Anyway, we're looking forward to getting together.  We're interested to hear what other local folks are thinking and would like to lock down some plans as early as possible.

    Thanks!

For me, I like to get as fare as Oceanside from Wilmington if that don't work then pull into Dana Point. San Diego is two E Z days with a little lazy time. Couple of times I have just stayed in Oceanside for an extra day. ( weather being the main influence) i'm open to the times for the S. Cal Rendezvous.

This years plans for a new engine install, For me , sooner the better. OR Just to know when.
