It's certainly an "interesting project". isn't it? And the strangest W32 I've ever seen. Had it not been for the hull number, I wouldn't have believed it was even a WS kit boat.

When we kept our boat in Half Moon Bay for five years starting in 1994 it was there.  We never got to talk to the owner but were told by those that knew him he was getting it ready for sailing to the arctic or antarctic.  He foamed areas like the gunnels etc.  It actually didn't look that bad but was weird looking.  It never left that we know off.

Not exactly two rudders.  Actually, the rudder is split vertically into a main part, and a trim tab part.  With two wheels to be able to turn and trim each part independently.

Yes, this builder certainly did have some very different ideas, but that has always been the case with independent boatbulders over the years.

I have seen a lot of different ideas incorporated on Westsail hulls, but I will have to say this one is the strangest one of all.  (so far anyway)
