Main companionway hatch hasp

Bud, do you know who would have supplied the hasp on the main companionway hatch for my W32 #144?  A carpenter here rebuilt the hatch and it's GORGEOUS, but he lost the hasp's eye.  The eye had an odd vertical screw pattern.  I prefer to not drill new holes for a different hasp because the old holes show through with every hasp I've fitted.  The old hasp was cast bronze, I've looked and can't find another.

Incidentally, Sea Breeze's deck joinery turns out to be solid teak, all except the bowsprit.  Boomkin, everything.  What a treasure!

Sorry Joe, I do not know what brand the hasp was.  Possibly one from Taiwan, or from one of  the bronze foundries in the US.  Wilcox, Groco, Buck Algonquin, etc.

It is a shame the EPA has essentially made salvage unprofitable. I understand these days it costs more to dispose of the leftovers (hull, etc.) than the 'good' salvage is worth.

Those old WS bits (like hatch clasps, portholes, interior hardware, etc.) are pretty much irreplaceable these days.  I 'cry' when I hear of a WS that is relegated 'et al' to the fill for some sad reason and think of all those good, irreplaceable bits & pieces being lost forever.

I once visited a shop that restored WWII aircraft and learned that because of the rarity nothing... NOTHING... was ever simply thrown away no matter how unusable it might seem.
