    Bud,

Lana and I are in Cat Island Bahamas and we found a W32 tied to the mangroves in a creek that is on the keel at low tide.  Much has been stripped from the boat but the hull and standing rig are still there.  We did not go aboard or look inside.  The hull number is WSSK05440576  The name is Sly Boots.  It is a white hull with light blue trim.    It is inthe creeek at  Bennet Harbor by the govewrnment dock.  Any background or history on the boat?

I tried searching on the boat name, variations of the the boat name, and the hull number, and could find nothing.  The boat name seems vaguely familiar, but that doesn't mean much.  Bud, do you have any information on this boat?

I have W32 #544 Sly Boots on my list, owned (or previously owned) by John Carthy from Tampa, FL.  I do not have a current address for him though.  I sold him some parts between 1997 and 2003, but have not heard from him since.

White pages lists one Dr. John J. Carthy with contact info in the state of florida.
Also there is a site ( http://www.cvillas.com/bahamas/carthy/index.html ) listing the same Dr. Carthy with contact info as white pages.

    Hi all,

John was last in contact with WOA in April of 2010 and we have contact info on file. I've sent him an email and left a voicemail at his office. Hopefully he is aware of the state, and if not, we are able to help him become aware!

We have since heard on the island from local sources that the doctor may be ill and he is or was aware of the state of the boat.  It seems that she has suffered through two hurricanes.  A bit brused but still standing tall.

    All,

I was able to get in touch with the owner of Sly Boots, and he is aware of her present situation. He also indicated she may be available for sale, though I am confirming that.
