    Hi Bud,

Would you be able to tell us anything about 371 (HIN)?  We are looking at possibly purchasing this boat and would like to know a bit about her history.

    Thanks You,

    Al and Lisa Fraser

W32 #371 is Nez-O-Vent, and under Canadian registry.  Sorry, I do not have much information on her, other then two Canadian owners on my list.

Thanks for your reply.....we will have a peek at her in the spring if she's still available.  Would you know of any 32's for sale on the west coast?  Thanks, Al and Lisa

    Al,

I primarily hear about Westsail boats being for sale when the owners list them for sale on my www.westsail.com website.  I do not act as a broker, but let owners advertise their boats for a nominal cost that pays for my webmaster to put their ad on the website.

There are also some listed for sale on the WOA site from time to time.

    Hello,

Not sure if I'm doing this right but here goes. I am interested in an alleged Westsail. I am told it is an '85 and built in Chicago. The only info I've gotten for the H.I.N. is #685655. This all sounds suspect to me. The photos (I haven't actually seen the boat yet) look very much like a Westsail but....

Any idea what it could be?

    Todd,

That number appears to be a documentation number, not a HIN number.  I know there is a partially finished W32 in the Chicago area that the owner wants to sell.  Not sure of the number of the boat, but I have seen ads for her before.  Check it out and get the HIN number, which would start out WSSK, then eight more numbers.

you can pull up that boat number in the documentation search.  Although it doesn't list it as a westsail,  There is some info,  The numbers look like a westsail 32.

google US vessel with that number and you will come up with it.

looks like the current owner is in puerto rico?

Thanks for the info. Yes the owner, and boat, are in Puerto Rico. Apparently the boat was manufactured in Chicago 1985 by James E. Lewis Shipbuilders. Does anyone have any info on this builder, their build quality etc? I can't find anything about the online.

I saw pictures of that boat in Puerto Rico (Interlude) and was curious as well. It had the bulwarks lower than other Westsail 32's On a search with that USCG number It does show James Lewis as the builder but be aware the HIN is ILZ046370585. It was made in 85 alright but ILZ in prefix stands for Illinois homemade boats. If he was a reputable builder he may have had his own identity.
