2010 Northern California Rendezvous

Our 2010 Rendezvous was a banner event with 14 Westsails in attendance 1 W28, 10 W32, 2 W42 and 1 W43 plus another 9 WS owners.  The longest voyage to attend was by Larry Waldrip and crew on Desiderata W32, a 3 day voyage uphill from Moss Landing, CA.  Desiderata is the only known full yellow / orange hulled Westsail.  Cruisers heading south to Mexico were Steve & Lulu YoderSempre Sabado W28 and Keith & Kay SchardeinChamisa #064 W42.  Furthest traveled by any means or reason was James Templeton, owner of the Australian berthedNarwhal #68 W28.  James said that he has owned Narwhal for many years and had never met another Westsailor – we were happy to introduce him to our owners.

A big thank you to our 2010 Vendors for making the event possible by the contributions of their time and raffle prizes.

Spectra Watermaker and reps Les and Diane Sutton for wandering the boats to answer questions (there were 3 Spectra Watermakers installed among our 14 Westsails in attendance.)

Our hosts, the San Leandro Yacht Club proved once again to be gracious hosts and excellentchef’s.  Delmarie Snodgrass and Julie Brooker did an excellent job with our meals  - Thank youDelmarie and Julie and club members for your assistance.

San Leandro Marina provided excellent accommodations and Delmarie Snodgrass the marina manager were very helpful with all the boats coming and going.
