The Westsail Rendezvous Returns to Florida's East Coast!

Mark your calendars now for the 2010 Florida East Coast Westsail Rendezvous. We will be gathering at Beach Marine - Jacksonville Beach Marina, on the last weekend of April, the 23rd, 24th and 25th. Come early and stay late, since the Jacksonville area has a lot of attractions (which of course can't compare to the rendezvous!) that are a mere hop from the marina.

Beach Marine is offering half-price rates for boats coming to the Rendezvous - only 98¢ per foot/per day. Pretty darned good, we think. It is one of the friendliest marinas on the east coast with a very helpful staff. Well worth a visit.

Carol and Fergus McLean (W32 Selkie) are your coordinators and hosts and Bud Taplin has said he will try to join us.

Saturday night we will have a seafaring buffet at Billy's Boat House Grill, located at the marina. There will be live music and maybe even a rendering of the ancient and traditional "Song of the Westsail" chantey (if it can be written in time). If the weather permits we can have a dinghy race, so bring a suitable bucket. We're hoping for a hands-on Westsail project seminar, informative talks, the opportunity to see the latest and greatest improvements that Westsail owners have made to their beloved boats, and the traditional Sunday sail.

The cost for this extraviganza will be a mere $18 per person for those joining in the Saturday evening buffet at Billy's Boathouse.
